Volunteering

META aims to create new opportunities for young volunteers who are interested in helping the Association in the realization of its goals in the programme for the education of young immigrants. We aim to create an environment in which their activities are not only helpful to the clients, but also fulfilling for themselves. Volunteers will become full and equal members of the working team. Currently we are preparing accreditation of the volunteers programme at the Ministry of the Interior.

This project with META offers potential volunteers great opportunities for self fulfillment and creativity. They can gain great life experience, practical skills of working in the non profit-making sector, plus personal and professional fulfillment and job satisfaction.

META offers to the Volunteers

Entrance Training

All volunteers will go through entrance training. Those interested in working with clients will undergo two days of training. The volunteers will be introduced to the Association’s activities, its regulations, the basics of the volunteers’ work and the principles of the work with clients. The second part of the training is dedicated to the issues of immigration, the associated legislation, the Czech education system and the specific conditions that apply to the clients of META.

Support and Direction

Each volunteer will be supported by a Volunteers’ Coordinator who will offer help and direction in the volunteer’s activities and will be able to resolve actual problems. The volunteer will receive a manual to help him/her to orientate in the work of the Association.

Supervision

The long-term volunteer will take part in regular supervision group meetings. These will be lead by the Supervisor who is extensively experienced in working with foreigners, students and volunteers. The volunteer can have the opportunity of individual supervision if preferred.
